History – A Taste Of Violence

Strange Fruit

Black People have lived through many years of Racism –

I Start from a supposition of the times we live in, what I see with my eyes, I have lived through many situations that offers very little explanations, yet as produced many fatalities more people who look like me are being burned, murdered, stabbed, Men, Women, Girls, Boys, are living in.

How do I get you, the observer to say No to this level of Hate, Where is the Humanity for one and all.

What is the benefit of position that we cannot change the face of Power not the kind of power to generate electricity but the Power in the hands of the wrong that does nothing to eradicate everything that is Toxic in the World.

Are we all not STRANGE FRUIT

Southern trees bear strange fruit,
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root,
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze,
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.

Pastoral scene of the gallant south,
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth,
Scent of magnolias, sweet and fresh,
Then the sudden smell of burning flesh.

Here is fruit for the crows to pluck,
For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck,
For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop,
Here is a strange and bitter crop.

What we saw on the world stage the murder of George Floyd what is the relationship between race and racism.

Since time memorial have we not learnt anything profiling, combined with discrimination in the system, labelling and the pathway from school to a prison cell. Windrush Scandal being deported I have heard it said Black people are not fully human, white slave owners devalued the humanity of my people and considered us as their property the legacy of that abhorrent time into the 21st century and allowed the toxicity spill over today.

We need to break those misconceptions, we are loving, caring, spiritual, compassionate.

A people of music, faith, culture, poetry and a cuisine with that feeds the soul to live to breathe as every other person.

I want this mourning to end.
